2018 SGW-PBT for Camp Esperanza

Rain or Shine SGW-PBT Raises Money for the Kids of Camp Esperanza

For the first time in our history the Steven G. Whitlock Memorial Golf Tournament was cancelled due to weather. The Dallas-Ft. Worth area had received record rainfall in the weeks and days leading up to the date of our event, October 15, 2018. The Golf Club at Twin Creeks was simply not playable and we were left with no choice but to cancel this year's event.
While cancelling golf and the award ceremony was unfortunate, there was still a great deal of money raised for the kids of Camp Esperanza due to the generosity of our corporate sponsors, donations and participants. The 29th Annual Steven G. Whitlock Memorial Golf Tournament can now announce the donation to Camp Esperanza from this year's proceeds will be $25,250.
Thank you to the Professional Bondsmen of Texas, our tournament partner and all of our devoted volunteers. The 30th Annual Steven G. Whitlock Memorial Golf Tournament will be held in San Antonio, TX next year. Date and course to be announced soon. We hope to see you there.

SGW Raises Money to Send Kids with Cancer to Summer Camp

The Steven G. Whitlock Memorial was founded in 1989 for the purpose of raising money to help kids battling cancer. SGW connected with The Bridewell Foundation's Camp Esperanza, a summer camp for kids receiving treatment for cancer at the Children's Medical Center of Dallas. To date SGW has raised more than $525,000 to fund the cost of sending more than 1000 kids to Camp Esperanza.

Camp Esperanza is a Summer Camp for Kids Battling Cancer

Camp Esperanza was founded by Mr. and Mrs. Robert Bridewell in 1982 in association with the Children's Medical Center of Dallas.
Camp Esperanza held its first camp at Camp Sweeney in Gainsville, Texas in 1983. They have since moved to their current site at Camp John Marc in Meridian, Texas.
Camp Esperanza provides the opportunity for 140 kids to attend camp each year under the supervision of doctors and nurses from Children's Medical Center of Dallas and a number devoted volunteers.
