Linda B. Braswell Passed away

It is with a heavy heart that PBUS must inform our members and friends that Linda B. Braswell, Master Certified Bail Agent (MCBA), passed away on June 22, 2019. She was the longest serving President of the Professional Bail Agents of the United States (PBUS) and sat on the Board of Directors as the Past President. Linda was also the Past President of the Florida Bail Agents Association.

Linda was licensed as a bail agent in 1974 after working for several years in a bail bonds office as a secretary. She was the youngest ever-licensed female bail agent in the State of Florida at that time.

Linda owned Braswell Bail Bonds in Stuart, Florida since 1975 and served as the President of Braswell Surety Services, Inc., since 1981. She was the exclusive Florida Managing General Agent for the Baltimore, Maryland-based Lexington National Insurance Corporation.

In 2003, Linda received the distinguished honor of being awarded the Bail Agent of the Year Award by PBUS and was inducted into PBUS’ Hall of Fame in 1995. She served on the Florida Department of Insurance’s Bail Bond Blue Ribbon Panel and was a Certified Florida Pre-Licensing instructor, Certified Florida Continuing Education instructor, and PBUS Certified Bail Agents Program instructor.   

Linda was a consummate professional and friend to all. She will be missed by many. Linda is survived by her husband Frank Braswell, her children and grandchildren.

Funeral services will be June 27 from 4:00p – 7:00p – Aycock Funeral Home, 505 S. Federal Hwy, Stuart, FL 34994 and June 28 from 2:00p – 3:00p at The Grace Place Church, 1550 SE Salerno Rd., Stuart, FL 34997.
